JES voted on The Arkansas Diamond Book Award for the 2019-2020 school year (delayed voting due to Covid). During library class the last few weeks, students have been reading and watching Craig O’Neill read all the book nominees. Last week, students in grades K-4 voted on their favorite book to win the award. Congratulations to the book Creepy Pair of Underwear by Aaron Reynolds on winning The Arkansas Diamond Book Award!!
Seventh grade percussionists are learning new skills everyday!
Mrs Barnett’s 8th grade literacy classes are participating in an escape room! Students must figure out puzzles to do with MLA formatting.
In Music class students learned how to read, write, and perform rhythms. These students are performing the rhythms they learned on snare drum.
7th grade students experimenting with watercolor techniques today in art. All of our students love art and Ms. Cravens!

Any student at the high school with failing grades will have a copy mailed home today.
5th science students explore using reflecting, lighted, digital and handheld microscopes.
Congratulations to Madelyn Ramsey in shooting a 101 in the Conference Match today and finishing in 2nd place! She will be going to the State Golf match later next week. Madelyn has worked very hard for this and we are very proud of her accomplishments.

Last week Mrs. White spoke with seventh graders about the importance of managing time and staying organized. We appreciate her doing everything she can in helping our new 7th grade students get comfortable at the Jr High.

Jr High student Ada Pylant is labeling triangles after different geometric movements in Coach Bakers math class this morning.
Coach Bell’s classes met with our counselor Mrs. White yesterday. 7th grade students learned about everything she does for us here in the JR High.

I would like to thank everyone for a very successful start to this school year. Dealing with COVID-19 regulations has been something new for all of us, I appreciate your patience and support. Due to current CDC, ADH, and ADE requirements we need your continued help to keep the student count down on school buses to help maintain student health and safety. Therefore, we will not be able to transport additional riders with your children this year. On the buses, we are doing our best to maintain social distancing and do not always have space for additional riders. This applies to mornings and afternoons. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Riverview alumnus Vanessa Valienta and her mother turned their hobby of couponing into donating to the junior high and high school hygiene closet! They donated soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and deodorant.
