Riverview School District will present the Annual Report to the Public Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 7pm in the Riverview Fine Arts Center located at 800 Raider Drive, Searcy, AR.
Dear Parents and Guardians:
According to the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) data within the school district boundaries, the number of positive cases has risen over the past week for residents of the district. Within the district boundaries, the current infection rate is 12 per 10,000 people. In the last 24 hours, the Riverview School District has been notified of two students that have tested positive for Covid-19. In both cases the district point of contact followed guidelines set forth by the ADH and the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE).
All parents of students and staff members who were identified as a probably close contact have been contacted directly. If you were not contacted yesterday or today, then your child is not considered a probable close contact.
Riverview School District is committed to the health and safety of our students, staff members and their families. Please help us stop the spread of Covid-19 as quickly as we can. Please remember to social distance, wear a mask when appropriate, and practice good hand washing.

Madelyn Ramsey finished her season by finishing in 12th place at the state golf match yesterday at Lake DeGray State Park Golf Course in Arkadelphia. She shot a 105, which was 16 strokes better than her score last year on the same course and finished the round with 3 straight par’s! She has had such a successful career and we are certainly proud of her!!!

Today the high school administration was made aware of an inappropriate video. The situation was investigated by building administration and the White County Sheriff’s Department. It was determined that there was not a threat to the school and the matter is being handled according to student discipline policy.

JES voted on The Arkansas Diamond Book Award for the 2019-2020 school year (delayed voting due to Covid). During library class the last few weeks, students have been reading and watching Craig O’Neill read all the book nominees. Last week, students in grades K-4 voted on their favorite book to win the award. Congratulations to the book Creepy Pair of Underwear by Aaron Reynolds on winning The Arkansas Diamond Book Award!!
Mrs Barnett’s 8th grade literacy classes are participating in an escape room! Students must figure out puzzles to do with MLA formatting.
Seventh grade percussionists are learning new skills everyday!
7th grade students experimenting with watercolor techniques today in art. All of our students love art and Ms. Cravens!

Progress reports go out today (Thursday, 9/24).
Any student at the high school with failing grades will have a copy mailed home today.
In Music class students learned how to read, write, and perform rhythms. These students are performing the rhythms they learned on snare drum.
5th science students explore using reflecting, lighted, digital and handheld microscopes.
Congratulations to Madelyn Ramsey in shooting a 101 in the Conference Match today and finishing in 2nd place! She will be going to the State Golf match later next week. Madelyn has worked very hard for this and we are very proud of her accomplishments.
